Background: Tackling the “Ultra-Heavy Payload” Challenge in Heavy Industries

Approximately 80–90% of the global AGV market is concentrated in lightweight and medium-duty vehicles with payloads of less than 3 tons. In contrast, automating the transportation of components weighing more than 10 tons remains a major bottleneck in industries such as shipbuilding, railways, aerospace, and large-scale power generation.

ROBO-HI has previously commercialized the RoboCar® Tractor 25T, capable of towing loads of up to 30 tons, and successfully demonstrated practical Level 4 autonomous driving in restricted airport areas.

In response to strong market demand, ROBO-HI has expanded its product lineup with new AGVs capable of carrying and precisely positioning ultra-heavy loads from 50 to 150 tons.

Key Features

The new lineup builds upon the safety and autonomous driving technologies proven in highly regulated airport environments and is optimized for the unique requirements of indoor production facilities.

1. Multi-Layer Safety Design for Ultra-Heavy Transport (All Models)

To address the critical safety requirements of transporting extremely heavy loads, all models are equipped with:

  • 360-degree laser scanners
  • Bumper sensors
  • Hardware-connected emergency stop circuits

This multi-layer safety architecture ensures exceptionally high safety standards.

2. Exceptional Power and Precision for Loads Over 100 Tons (100T/150T Models)

High-Precision Positioning

  • Travel accuracy of ±10 mm
  • Optional vision or mechanical guide correction enables positioning accuracy of ±1 to 5 mm

Omnidirectional Movement

  • Independent steering drive systems with 4 to 16 wheels or more
  • Capable of on-the-spot rotation and lateral movement
  • Fully replaces processes that traditionally rely on overhead cranes

3. Integrated Control with ROBO-HI OS (All Models)

More than just a vehicle provider, ROBO-HI offers ROBO-HI OS, an autonomous operating system that:

  • Optimizes routing for multiple AGVs
  • Coordinates with on-site personnel
  • Integrates seamlessly with MES and WMS systems

This enables facility-wide operational optimization.
