「ROBO-HI START」: Deploy Robots Without Infrastructure Renovation

ROBO-HI START – a new service that lets office buildings and shopping centers deploy robots without renovating infrastructure or mounting extra devices on walls or ceilings.

ROBO-HI Corporation has officially launched ROBO-HI® START, a new service that enables robots to be deployed in existing office buildings and shopping centers with no elevator or security-gate renovation work required.

The solution was built to remove the two biggest barriers to introducing robots in existing buildings: high infrastructure renovation costs and operational friction for on-site staff. Through a human-robot collaboration model, "ROBO-HI START" delivers labor savings, higher operating efficiency, and accelerated digital transformation.

BACKGROUND

Although robots are increasingly expected to ease the labor shortage in building cleaning, deployment in existing facilities still faces many obstacles.

1. High infrastructure renovation cost

To move between floors, companies typically have to invest in elevator-integration systems, which carries large costs and long deployment timelines. For many building operators, this is the deal-breaker that prevents robot investments from being approved.

2.Operational difficulty

Once the robot is carried to another floor, staff must manually reconfigure the operating map. Manual handling often leads to mistakes or accidental deletion of map data, which affects live operations.

HIGHLIGHT FEATURES OF "ROBO-HI START"

1.No elevator renovation — optimized human-robot coordination

Instead of chasing full automation, ROBO-HI START takes a more practical collaborative approach:

  • Humans carry the robot to the target floor following EYECAN Staff instructions.
  • ROBO-HI DANCE coordinates work between people and robots.
  • Robots handle large-area cleaning such as floors and corridors, while staff take care of spots that are hard for robots to reach — corners, edges, and tight spaces.

Because no elevator or security-gate modifications are required, companies can deploy robots quickly with minimal upfront investment.

2. Automatic map switching via the cloud platform

Once the robot reaches the right floor, staff simply tap "Move Complete" in the EYECAN Staff app.

The "ROBO-HI OS" automatically recognizes the current location and switches to the corresponding map — with no manual setup required.

This removes the need for complex configuration steps, reduces errors, and keeps operations seamless.

BENEFITS

With "ROBO-HI START", existing buildings that previously couldn't adopt robots due to cost or operational constraints can now begin their digital transformation step by step at a reasonable investment level.

ROBO-HI expects the solution to accelerate DX in existing buildings, address labor shortages, and move toward a sustainable working model where humans and robots collaborate effectively in the same environment.

TECHNOLOGIES USED

  • ROBO-HI OS: An Autonomous Operating System that centrally manages robots, people (via EYECAN Staff), equipment, and IoT systems on the cloud.
  • ROBO-HI DANCE: A task-dispatch platform that optimizes time-sharing between humans and robots.
  • EYECAN Staff: A mobile app that connects staff to ROBO-HI OS, supporting work instructions, multilingual guidance, training, and gamification.
