ROBO-HI Corporation announces「ROBO-HI WRAP」, a robot management and security platform designed to fundamentally prevent information leakage by enveloping all communications from every type of robot, including overseas-made robots, through ROBO-HI AOS.
ROBO-HI WRAP blocks robots from communicating directly with manufacturers’ cloud systems or the external Internet. Instead, all communications, including control commands, camera footage, sensor data, and system logs, are monitored and controlled through a dedicated gateway.
Even if an individual robot has security vulnerabilities or engages in suspicious communications, data cannot leave the facility. This enables companies to confidently deploy the most suitable robots in terms of price and performance, regardless of their country of manufacture.
Background to Development
Information leakage is occurring at the worst pace on record. The next target may be “mobile devices” operating on-site.
According to a survey by Tokyo Shoko Research published on October 7, 2026, there had already been 10 incidents involving the leakage or loss of at least one million personal records at listed companies and their subsidiaries since the beginning of 2026. This has surpassed the previous annual record of eight incidents set in 2023.
Nine of these incidents were attributed to unauthorized external access or cyberattacks.
Robots operating in buildings, factories, and critical infrastructure continuously record facility interiors using cameras and LiDAR, maintain 3D maps of buildings, and remain connected to networks. While offering convenience, robots can also become a new “exit point for information” for companies.
Caught between security requirements and costs
In July 2026, the United States announced a ban on the import of new models of Chinese-made humanoid and quadruped robots due to national security concerns. In Japan, under the Economic Security Promotion Act, equipment selection criteria for critical infrastructure and government procurement have also become increasingly stringent.
Meanwhile, overseas-made robots are rapidly becoming more competitive in both price and performance. Furthermore, when tracing components down to the level of batteries, circuit boards, and sensors, completely eliminating components originating from a particular country is unrealistic.
Choosing not to use a robot simply because it is made overseas also means giving up a promising solution to labor shortages.
Overview of「ROBO-HI WRAP」
ROBO-HI WRAP is an independent product that systematizes the security functions of ROBO-HI AOS, a multi-vendor autonomous robot operation platform.
It is designed around the following three principles:
1. Zero Trust Robotics
Robots introduced into the facility are initially treated as “untrusted devices.” No communications are permitted unconditionally.
2. Blocking Direct External Communications
Direct communications from robots to manufacturers’ cloud systems or the external Internet are blocked at the network layer. Unintended data transmissions are contained at the point of exit rather than being controlled only at the point of entry.
3. Complete Communication Wrapping
All communication interfaces of the robot, including control commands, camera footage, sensor data such as LiDAR, and system logs, are consolidated through the「ROBO-HI WRAP Gateway」.
The gateway wraps each robot like a protective capsule, placing all incoming and outgoing communications under monitoring and control.

Key Features

Future Development
ROBO-HI AOS is a multi-vendor autonomous robot operation platform that enables robots from different manufacturers and countries to be controlled through a unified system.
Since 2023, the platform has been operating daily at 18 locations across Japan, connecting approximately 150 robots from Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Germany, the United States, and other countries, as well as 50 elevators and 200 gates and doors.
ROBO-HI WRAP supports the value of “freedom of choice” by providing the assurance that robots can be “used with confidence.”
Companies adopting the platform are not locked into a particular manufacturer and can select the best robots available at any given time. For overseas robot manufacturers, ROBO-HI WRAP also provides an entry point into the Japanese market by helping them meet the country's stringent security requirements.
Rather than dividing robots by nationality, ROBO-HI aims to enable robots to coexist under a common set of rules, thereby addressing labor shortages at Japanese worksites while maintaining national security.
Going forward, ROBO-HI will promote the adoption of ROBO-HI WRAP as a standard platform for robot management at government agencies and critical infrastructure operators, where strict compliance is required.
